May 1, 2012 Letter:
Dear Cathedral Family,
What a privilege it is for me to pastor a congregation who is open and willing to allow Spirit to carry us to Truth. Over the years our journey in truth has allowed us to grow in love and in demonstration of the whole household of God. 2012 has brought us into a new season with unlimited possibilities as we continue to evolve into our corporate destiny.
As we move into the coming months, I feel a sense of urgency to call all of our church family to action. Now, more than ever, our faithfulness and collective stewardship is of extreme importance. This is the time for our church family to purchase a church home! As you know, we entered the Easter season with a financial goal to raise the necessary funds to meet the down payment requirements to achieve a purchase and we are off to a great start. Over the past few weeks we have been able to raise over $60,000.00. However, we still need to raise the remainder of our goal.
In order to be successful in this, I am asking all of our members to prayerfully consider how each one of us can contribute. Brandi and I have decided to give a Double Tithe each Sunday during the next three months. I pray that there are many who will join us in this commitment. There will be some who can give an additional amount above their tithe each week and others who will bring a special one-time building offering. We need everyone’s participation in order to facilitate our goal of putting down roots and once again owning our own church home.
When we began this journey, I promised to always keep you informed and up to date
on this process when there is news to be shared. Therefore, I am inviting everyone to join me for a short business meeting this Sunday, May 6th, immediately following our
10:30 a.m. service.
Over the next few days, please take some time to pray and ask God how He would have you participate in reaching our goal of owning our church home. I look forward to seeing you Sunday, and remember… Together We Can Do This!
